Overview

The Emanuel Nathan Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Mr. Nathan, by his family. The scholarship awards one individual each year, selected from the senior class of Marion Senior High School, who will attend a certified school of nursing or related field such as Pharmacy, Medical Research, etc. The student shall be selected by the committee upon consideration of the follow factors: scholarship, character, extracurricular activities while a student at MSHS and financial need.

Requirements

This scholarship is available to students at Marion Senior High School (required) who are currently in high school and will be attending a certified school of nursing or related field such as Pharmacy, Medical Research, etc.

 

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE RQUIREMENTS FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP:

  1. Attendance at or application to attend a college or other higher education institution to pursue a career in education. Scholarship awards are contingent upon acceptance and enrollment in an approved and accredited program.
  2. Submission of a completed “Smyth County Community Foundation Scholarship Application” online which includes the ability to upload the required “attachments” requested on the application. In the application, focus your essay on describing how your past experiences and future plans exemplify a dedication to the medical field, service, and community.
  3. Submission of 2 letters of recommendation or references, expressing how the applicant demonstrates his/her dedication to community service and a sharing spirit.
  4. OPTIONAL- Application for FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
