Supporting Students

Smyth County Community Foundation is committed to creating opportunities for students of all ages to pursue further education after high school. Through our scholarship program, we help support students as they build their skills to be successful, caring citizens in our county.  We are partnering with Smyth County Educational Foundation to have one application that applies to multiple scholarships.

Online application submission for all Smyth County Community Foundation Scholarships and Smyth County Educational Foundation Scholarships is now open for the 2025-2026 school year.   Click here to apply.   Your completed application must be submitted by 11:59 PM on April 4, 2025.
Smyth Promise Scholarship applicants do not need to complete this online application.   Click on Smyth Promise Scholarship below to see instructions for qualifying for this scholarship.  It is available for students throughout the year, but you must meet the scholarship criteria.

Linda Helton and Mike Robinson with the Smyth County Community Foundation presented a matching grant to Mayor David Helms and the Marion Town Council for their project to upgrade Ogburn Park.
