Louise Blevins-Leslie Girls Golf Scholarship
Spotlight
Overview
This scholarship is in the loving memory of Louise Blevins-Leslie who spent many years on the golf course, playing for pleasure and playing in tournaments. She developed life-long friendships on the course and loved to travel with her husband, Marvin, to play on courses across the southeastern US and Caribbean regions.
Louise was first introduced to golf when her husband gave her a pair of nice golf shoes as a gift. From there, with the help of some golf lessons and helpful friends, she learned to play and became an avid golfer. Her love for golf grew over the 30 years that she played.
Marvin wishes to carry on her memory by encouraging high school females in Smyth County, Virginia to learn to play golf and participate on the high school golf team.
